Norco Thanks Suburbia Owners for Citgo Clean-Up

Slightly fuzzy photo by Evan Brandt
North Coventry Supervisors Jim Marks, left, and Rebekah Elliott, right, thank Suburbia Shopping Center owners, Karl Glocker and Joe Gambone for paying for the clean-up of the former Citgo gas station in front of the shopping center at the intersection of South Hanover Street and Route 100.

So conflicts usually keep me from making it to North Coventry meetings, even thought I like the folks there.

But this Monday night was one of those times I could go and, immediately discovered our most excellent stringer Laura Catalano already there.

But accommodating Mercury stalwart that she is, she immediately realized this meant she could over an Owen J. Roberts meeting and thus, both meetings would be covered, so everyone wins.

The biggest story to come out of the hour-long meeting, I would say, is the clean-up of the perennially present and polluted Citgo station at the intersection of South Hanover Street and Route 100.

Solicitor Lawerence Sager told me the township facilitated the clean-up by putting the owners of the Suburbia Shopping Center together with the trust that owns the property.

More on that in the pending Mercury article.

In the meantime, here are the Tweets!
