PHS Jr. ROTC A-OK For 17th Year

For the 17th consecutive year, Pottstown High School's Jr. ROTC Unit has been awarded the "Distinguished Unit Award."

themselves through outstanding service to their school and community while meeting the Air Force Junior ROTC mission of producing better citizens for America," the announcement read.

The objectives of the Air Force Junior ROTC program are to train high school cadets in citizenship and life skills; promote community service; instill responsibility, character and self-discipline through character education and to provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.

The program is in place in 889 high schools across the United States, Europe, the Pacific and Puerto Rico and includes more than 130,000 cadets.
