Just in time for back-to-school! The Pottstown Regional Public Library is pleased to announce a new free online tutoring service starting Sept. 1.
This service is a unique blend of one-to-one homework help, state-aligned skills building, test preparation, and writing assistance.
Whether a student needs to master a skill, prepare for a test, refine a term paper, or just get through a difficult homework problem, help is available through the Pottstown Regional Public Library’s website.
Help is also available in Spanish. Students without home computers may access this service in the library or at school and store documents in “cloud” memory.
Adult services include resume review and test preparation.
Tutors are available daily from 2 pm through 11 pm.
Practice, skill building and other support activities are available 24/7.
All you need is a Pottstown Regional Public Library card.
Make signing up for a library card part of your back-to-school to-do list.
In an e-mail to me, Davis also noted that: "There is no communication through email and identity is first name basis only. Communication is through a secured chat room and an interactive whiteboard."
Students may sign up for an “account” if repeated visits are warranted.
Papers can be uploaded to a tutor for review and stored in cloud memory for those students without thumb drives or a home computer. With an account, students can also work together on group projects without having to meet face-to-face.
Brainfuse is the name of the service. Individuals can contract with this company for a fee, so the “value” of this service should be pretty apparent. We think that this is a wonderful service to offer to our patrons.
