Livengood was able to partner with equipment supplier Vulcan and 4 Star Reps to secure a $50,000 grant which along with matching funds were used to replace old outdated equipment in the kitchen that serves as a working classroom.
Teacher and Chef Steve Irick, a PHS graduate of the program himself, pointed out the 20-plys-year-old-year old equipment for both group instruction and multiple catering events a month had seen better days.
"I am pretty sure most of this equipment was here when I was a student in the program," Livengood said. "With the help of 4 Star and Vulcan, we now have a state-of-art kitchen that will greatly improve the students' learning experience."
