Pottsgrove Now Offering Free Food for All Students

A week's worth of free meals will once again be distributed at Lower Pottsgrove and West Pottsgrove elementary schools starting today.

Blogger's Note:
The following was provided by the Pottsgrove School District.

There has been a change in the school meal distribution system that will allow all students to receive free breakfast and lunch each week.

On Monday, Aug. 3, the USDA extended the Seamless Summer Option for providing food to Pottsgrove students. This will allow the district to provide free meals to all students again like was done in the spring.

The district will need to distribute food from the same sites as in the spring. No food will be distributed at the middle school or at Rolling Hills.

For Rolling Hills families that are unable to get to one of our distribution sites, the district will be working with the community social worker and Project Purpose to pick up meals and deliver them.

A morning and evening distribution schedule on the first school day of each week at West Pottsgrove Elementary School and at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School as follows:
  • 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Recently issued ID cards will no longer need to be carried to the distribution site to receive meals.

However, please do not dispose of them.

Keep them some place safe because this program has only been extended through Dec. 31. In addition, there is a possibility that the program runs out of funding prior to that date. In either of these circumstances, the district will return to the food distribution system used last week.

The free lunch information program scheduled for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at West Pottsgrove Elementary School will continue as scheduled.
