Blogger's Note: And the news from the Pottstown School District news machine keeps on coming...

Five lucky students from Lincoln Elementary School learned recently that if they knew bike safety rules and had the artistic talent to create an educational poster they stood a chance of earning a free bicycle.

The Bike Safety Poster Contest, sponsored by Tri County Bicycles on High Street, provided students with the opportunity to display both creative talent and knowledge of rules of the road.

Students were challenged to develop bike safety posters which were judged on their creativity and educational value.

Physical education teacher Jane Thompson organized the event and noted, “It is great to see students display their knowledge of bike safety and be rewarded by receiving a free bicycle and helmet.”

Winners included Abigail Rochlin, Natalie Fichthorn, Truman McCormick, Winni Weng, and Hayley Yosko.

Lincoln Principal Lori Hoch pointed out that the Bike Safety Poster Contest is another example of partnership between the school district and local businesses to help provide meaningful learning experiences for students.
