Second Library CHAIR-ity Auction Set for May 22

The artist-painted chairs were put on display in front of the library on April 24 and will be displayed there again on Saturday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting.

Blogger's Note: The following was submitted by the Pottstown Regional Public Library.

The Pottstown Regional Public Library will hold its second CHAIR-ity Auction at The Carousel at Pottstown on Saturday, May 22 from 12 to 3 p.m.

Area artists have donated their time and talent, painting 20 chairs, ten of them child-sized, creating beautiful one-of-a-kind works of art.

Twenty local businesses, groups, and individuals have sponsored the chairs and/or the event to make this fundraiser a success.

There will be food and drink, raffle baskets, and free rides on the Carousel from 12 to 1 p.m., when the live auction will begin with celebrity auctioneer, George Wausnock, and will continue after the auction until 3 p.m..

To see each chair, check out the Library’s website -- pottstownregionalpubliclibrary.org -- and scroll through the "Coming Events" to the CHAIR-ity event information. Click on the picture and see each individual chair with artist and sponsor information.

Pre-bidding began on April 20.

If you see one you may want to bid on, call the library (610) 970- 6551 to set up an appointment to visit the library Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m..

You will get a bidding number and can pre-bid during that visit.
