Pottstown's tree lighting ceremony was held on Dec. 8 in Smith Family Plaza and coincided with the awarding of prizes for the second annual downtown Pottstown planter competition.

The 16-foot Douglas Fir tree was donated by Ringing Dale Tree Farm, and the lights and ornaments were donated by Godfrey Properties. The tree lighting was broadcast through Facebook Live and can be viewed here.

The planter competition winners were announced by Pottstown Mayor Stephanie Henrick.

Businesses and organizations in Pottstown were given the opportunity to adopt the planters along High Street and participate in a holiday-themed decorating contest.
