Pottsgrove Hosting Montco Honors Orchestra Friday

Blogger's Note: The following was provided by Pottsgrove School District.

On Friday, the Pottsgrove School District will host the Montgomery County Honors Orchestra at 7 p.m. at the middle school auditorium.

They will perform music spanning from Mozart to Star Wars. Tickets for the event will be sold at the door. The cost is $3 for students and senior citizens and $5 for adults.

The Montgomery County Honors Orchestra is a group of 90 students comprised of the best orchestra students in Montgomery County.

These students are chosen by their directors to come to a single location, rehearse, and perform under a guest conductor.

This year, student performers are from Pottsgrove, Perkiomen Valley, Spring-Ford, North Penn, Abington, Upper Merion, Plymouth Whitemarsh, and Germantown Academy.

They have been rehearsing at Pottsgrove Middle School under Maestro Gary White.

Maestro White is director of the Philadelphia Sinfonia Youth Orchestra and Orchestra Concordia in Radnor. He was recently a guest conductor for PMEA District 11 Stringfest in 2018 here at Pottsgrove Middle School.
