Pottstown High School engineering teacher Andy Bachman had a big smile on his face when he announced congratulations to student Nada Elgendy for her acceptance to the Exelon STEM Summer Leadership Academy.
The Exelon STEM Leadership Academy is designed to give young women in high school hands-on experience in STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Math), energy, and sustainability.
This experience:
engages and prepares students to consider STEM academic and career paths;
Builds STEM knowledge and skills;
Practices leadership, communication, and presentation skills;
Provides students access to authentic experiences at STEM institutions and Exelon energy facilities; Expands students network with others who are interested, pursuing, and working in STEM fields.
Bachman said "this is an exciting learning experience that will help guide Nada's future plans."
