The fishing rodeo sponsored by Lower Pottsgrove Township and the Lower Pottsgrove Police Department will be held will be held Saturday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Sprogel's Run Creek in the Sunnybrook Ballroom parking lot, 50 Sunnybrook Road.
The event is free for children ages 3 to 12, but is only open to the first 25 children who register to allow social distancing to be maintained.
And the deadline for registering is May 7 at 4 p.m. It should be noted the event may already be full as registration will cease once 25 children are signed up, so check with the township at 610-323-0436 before heading over to the township building to register your child.
Participants must provide their own rod, tackle, bait and landing net and no artificial lures are allowed. There is a limit of five trout per participant.
Also, parents must accompany those youths but are urged not to fish for them, just help to bring the fish in.
For safety purposes, no fishing will be allowed on the Sunnybrook Road side of the creek.
