Ciresi and Senior Center Host Free Shredding Event

Blogger's Note: The following was submitted by the office of state Rep. Joe Ciresi.

Partnering with TriCounty Active Adult Center, state Rep. Joe Ciresi announced a free shred event to be held from noon until 3 p.m. May 23 in the parking lot across from TRAAC at 288 Moser Road.

“Protect yourself from identity theft by safely destroying documents you no longer need,” Ciresi said. “Shredding is a safe and environmentally friendly way to dispose of paper that contains personal information.”

This will be a rain-or-shine, drive-through event, Ciresi said. Items to be shredded should be placed in the rear of the vehicle, and a member of the shredding staff will collect the documents.

Households – not businesses – are invited to attend, with up to five boxes or bags of documents per household eligible for professional shredding by Wiggins Shredding.

Newspapers, journals and magazines will not be accepted.

Common types of documents for shredding include credit card statements and applications, bank and investment statements, tax information, insurance and health records, and retirement or pension fund information.

More information is available by contacting Ciresi’s office at 484-200-8265.
