The special guests will include Pennsylvania House Democratic Leader Joanna McClinton, D-Phila., and Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, D-Phila.; Montgomery County Commissioner Ken Lawrence Jr.; and Dr. Janine Darby, president of the local Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force.

The discussion and interviews will be led by students from Norristown Area, Methacton, Spring-Ford and Perkiomen Valley high schools, and constituents are invited to leave questions and comments ahead of time through Webster’s RSVP page, where participants can also register for the event: https://www.pahouse.com/Webster/RSVP/?id=1310

Once registered, participants will receive an email containing information and links on how to view the event.

“Though February being Black History Month presents a great platform to celebrate, learn about and focus on the achievements of Black Americans throughout U.S. history, acknowledging Black history and achievement should never be limited to one month on a calendar,” Webster said.

“I am hopeful this virtual forum serves as a springboard for ongoing conversations, for equality and equity, and for expansion of educational opportunity that more thoroughly and honestly covers our nation’s diverse history," Webster said. "Because it’s not just a slogan: Black history is American history.”

The virtual town hall will also be streamed live on Webster’s Facebook page, facebook.com/RepJoeWebster.
