About two dozen veterans in the 146th legislative district got a free lunch and a thank you on the 79th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor courtesy of their local legislator.
State Rep. Joe Ciresi, D-146th Dist., and his staff held the event as a "drive-through" in order to protect veterans, and themselves, from any potential contamination from the coronavirus.
“I wanted to find a creative but appropriate way to celebrate and honor the many veterans in our community, while we continue to adhere to COVID-19 mitigation efforts during this latest coronavirus surge,” Ciresi said.
“This drive-through lunch gives us an opportunity to thank the military servicemen and servicewomen – and their families – with a small token of our deepest appreciation.”
