Each year the Pottsgrove Education Foundation sponsors an annual 5K Run.
It is a free program open to grades K through 8 to promote lifetime fitness through running and games.
This May would have been the foundation's 20th Annual Race.
However, due to COVID-19 and the school closure, the race was canceled this year.
And for the past three years, Pottsgrove has used this race as a culminating event for its PRIDE program.
Participants will meet once or twice a week for 75 minutes after school at Lower Pottsgrove, West Pottsgrove and Ringing Rocks elementary schools, as well as Pottsgrove Middle School.
This program has been funded through grant dollars from the Pottstown Health and Wellness Foundation to promote healthy lifestyles in schools.
Since, the district was unable to conduct the program and run the race live and in person, advisors from the four schools decided to complete the program "virtually" for students.

More than 100 students participated in this year's program.
Advisors sent out various workout plans for the students to follow at home.
